ThyssenKrupp Access, a.k.a. TK Access, is a company that started in a lowly Kansas City basement as American Stair-Glide in 1947 and is still today dedicated to increasing the quality of lives in the USA by manufacturing and distributing stairway lifts, wheelchair lifts, and a multitude of other accessiblity products, such as residential elevators, vertical platform lifts, and minivators.
ThyssenKrupp Access today is the largest producer of stair lifts in the world. It offers two curved stair lift models, Stair-Glide (the original name was kept for 60 years!) and the new curved chair lift Flow II.
ThyssenKrupp Access Stair-Glide
The Stair-Glide by ThyssenKrupp Access, or shortened to TK Access, is a curved stair lift that features a 300 lbs carrying capacity. ThyssenKrupp Stair-Glide will handle inclines of up to 20 degrees to 45 degrees, and conquer the stairs at speeds up to 25 feet per minute.
ThyssenKrupp Access Flow II curved stair lift
Flow II is a new TK Access curved stair lift model. It innovates with through the introduction of an elegant, swan-neck shaped rail. The rail can adapt itself to any kind of curved, straight, even spiral staircases and can be installed on the inside or the outside of the staircase. The rail will even bend around the corners to enable getting the chair out of the way. Additionally, the chair will fold up and consume the minimal amount of space when not in use.
The carrying capacity of Flow II is 275 lbs. It will handle inclines from -70 degrees, going down, to +70 degrees, going upwards. This is a very steep incline by any stretch of imagination! Maximal speed is up to 29 feet per minute.
The Flow II is controlled by joysticks. Three types of joysticks are offered as options. The joysticks are located on armrests for easy control by just anyone. The seat swivel is controlled by a light-touch arm on the side of the chair. The simple touch will swing the chair in the position best suitable for exit and later for entrance at the top or the bottom of the rail. Another way to communicate with the chair are top and bottom of the rail wireless stations to call and send the chairlift.
The standard safety features include several obstacle sensors that detect any objects that might be in the path of the stairlift. The stairlift is immediately brought to a halt. After the obstacle is removed, the stair-glide will continue its journey.
Finally, TK Access Flow II can be customized to your home by a variety of colors, fabrics to either blend in or stand out, all based on your preference.
Despite ThyssenKrupp stair climber Flow II being a curved stair lift, its installation is done in a matter of a few hours by a skilled local technician.
All in all, TK Access Flow II oozes simplicity, functionality and versatility. Yet its looks have luxurious and elegant accents. A wonderful example of beauty coming out of a functional design.
ThyssenKrupp home elevator Flow II is available in 10 different colored vinyl and fabric finishes, and offers four different rail colors to match any house interior.
